CT-Scan

Machine: GE Revolution ACT (32 Slices)
A CT (Computed Tomography) Scan is an x-ray procedure performed using a computerised x-ray scanner to obtain cross-sectional images of the body. Some of the specialised CT scan examinations performed in IUDMC include:

  • CRANIAL ANGIOGRAPHY
Cranial angiography is a diagnostic procedure that visualizes blood vessels in the
brain and head using contrast dye injection. It is commonly used to diagnose
conditions like cerebral aneurysms, providing valuable information about flow
patterns and potential brain health issues.

  • TRIPHASIC STUDY
A triphasic study is a specialized imaging technique using CT. It involves three phases: arterial, portal venous and delayed. The arterial phase visualizes arterial blood flow, highlighting abnormalities like tumors. The portal venous phase provides information about organs, while the delayed phase assesses blood flow and enhancement patterns. This technique is used to evaluate liver lesions, pancreatic tumors and other abdominal abnormalities.

  • PULMONARY ANGIOGRAPHY
Pulmonary angiography is medical imaging technique used to visualize lungs’ blood vessels, diagnosing conditions like pulmonary embolism or pulmonary hypertension, by injecting contrast dye into pulmonary arteries.
